Remember stamps?! Those things you stick on envelopes?
For many people, they're a thing of the past. But for us, they're a vital resource. We use hundreds of stamps a year, because most of our direct communication with people in prison is by hand-written letters.
And, increasingly, we're hearing that it's one of their favourite things about being supported by us. It's rare to receive written letters these days, and many of those we support in prison experience profound isolation. More and more, we are being thanked by them not just for the books we've sent them, but - just as much - for taking the time to send them a hand-written letter.
And so, we have a simple message this Christmas... we need stamps!
And they ain't cheap. Once upon a time they cost a ha'penny, but these days a second-class stamp is 85p.
So to help us buy five second-class stamps, you can donate £4.25. For ten, it's £8.50. For twenty, it's £17. And so on!
But any amount at all will be hugely appreciated, and will help us bolster our stamp supplies, enabling us to keep sending letters - alongside books - to those who need them most.
